Creatine is an interesting product in that it is really just a supplement that we already have in our bodies, but if you increase the amount in your bloodstream, you can easily make it so that you are able to lift more weight and lift for longer.
When your muscles work hard, they need ATP to function. Creatine does a few things, but one thing it does is help your muscles burn energy more efficiently and be able to work for longer.
When your muscles are able to work harder and longer, you can then push yourself past the point where you would normally be too hard to work. So, you can get an extra set or two in on each exercise and build way more muscle.
Another advantage to creatine is that if it’s in your bloodstream when you eat, the protein you eat will be metabolized better and add to your overall muscle size. Without creatine, much of the protein you eat will not ever be metabolized. With it, you can eat more and it will help build your muscles much more quickly.
